quick Q.

The gaskets for the egr valve and the associated corrugated pipe, can anyone describe which way round do they go??

They have a 'raised' lip around the inside, Im not sure (particularly on where the corrugated pipe joins the air intake) which way round that lip goes. Raised bit toward the pipe, or toward the intake!!

Thanks
Stu

Purely from memory - mine were lip to the pipe, but mines blanked off anyway so...

so's mine. (y) But on the exhaust side.

I think I have a bit of intake air leaking out via the join between the corrugated egr pipe and the alloy intake pipe. Got a fresh gasket to put in.
unfortunately when i was reassembling it last time I'd complete forgot what way round the gasket was fitted when it came out!

Use plenty of red gasket muck, or make yourself a couple of gaskets out of cardboard using Ye Olde "draw around the thing" method. usually works pretty well, especially if you rub a candle all over the cardboard first.

They are single use "crush gaskets". You need a new one each time the existing one is removed, then it doesn't matter which way round they are fitted.
.

Ah, got you.

There are plenty of guides online whereby people retain the original gaskets when replacing the egr valve. But since I have a few new ones in the toolbox, Ill just fit them and relax! (y)
