Hello there friends!
icon_thumbs.gif
I have a Fiat marea 20v with an bosh Ecu part no 0 261 206 341. I have major problems with the electronics in the car... After a friend of mine did a complete cylinderhead rebuild projekt the car won´t start. On the dashboard the Code light is on and the injektion light is off... I got the workshop manual from pdftown but the pinout data is incorrect when i compare it to my car. Have only checked the connector F yet. This system runs with bosh motronic me 3.1. Can anyone help me with the wiring diagram and the pinout chart? Need also information about how many pins need power supply and so on...
Can´t get any help from the firm that import and sell these cars in Finland.

Hi Kenneth, welcome to the FF.

These are the pinout diagrams from the Fiat manual for the Marea 1998cc 20v fitted with Bosch 3.1 ECU. Let me know if these are what you need and I'll upload the engine section of the manual for you.

Dave.

Sorry... This is the same pindata i have... This one is different to what is connected in my car...

I've checked through all the Marea manuals I have but can't find any more information on this. There appears to be 3 different versions of ECU fitted:

1998 2.0 20v has Bosch 2.1
1999 2.0 20v has Bosch 3.1
2000 2.0 20v has Bosch 3.1F001

The 1999 2.0 20v 3.1 is the one I attached in #2 but there is no pinout or diagram for 3.1F001 in any of the manuals and 2.1 is a completely different type of ECU.

I did a search for the ECU part number you posted but the only thing I found anywhere was your post in the Norwegian FTCF. Are you sure you have the correct numbers from your ECU?

If you want to post your VIN number I'll know exactly what car you have which may give a few more leads. Other than that it seems we've drawn a blank.

if the injection light stays off when ignition is first swithed on it means ecu has a power or earth problem. the light should come on and then go off.

attached is the info for your model

What is a vin number? The type number on my registration card?

Thanks dave but that ecu is too old for my car... I have two connectors with 64 pins on both...

The VIN number is the chassis number of the car. It will start with ZFA followed by 14 numbers.

I think the ECU diagram that jug has posted above at #5 is the early Bosch Motronic 2.1, whereas 3.1 has the 2 x 64 pin connectors.

I suspect your car (being a 2000 year) has Motronic 3.1F001 as I posted at above at #4. There is no pinout diagram in the Fiat manual for this ECU.

Dave.

jug......

This is the one I've already posted at #2 above. The O/P says the pinouts are different to his ECU. I think he must have the 3.1F001 version as I posted at #4 above but I can't find a pinout diagram in the manual for that version.

Dave.

i have the year 2000 additions in my manual and they do not mention any change between 3.1 and 3.1F001. (only the 1.2 and 1.9 models had an ecu change in 2000)

I was searching throught the manual yesterday and saw a short list of changes for 3.1F001. One of them I remember was that it used 2 Lambda sensors instead of 1 which would need extra connections at the ECU.

Problem is, I can't find that page again now.

Dave.

ah 2 lambdas! thats a good clue. the NGK site only lists a post-cat lambda from 12/2000, and my manual only covers the MY2000 changes which occured before that. so in reality we should say there is a mk3 marea 20v from december 2000. i didnt know that (y)

also interesting, this change didnt happen on the 20v bravo so we can continue to say mk1 and mk2 only.

Just found the page again.

It refers to the extra sensors so the ECU would need extra connections to accomodate them and therefore a different pinout and wiring diagram.

Think I've found the elusive pinout and wiring diagrams for the latest version of the Marea 1998cc 20v Bosch 3.1F001 ECU.

I wish there were paper manuals like this for the Stilo, I still can't find my way around DTE or eLearn.

Hope this is the one you need Kenneth, It should be, there are no others.

Let me know if you need the key to the wiring diagrams.

Dave.

The Dte and eLearn I've got are nothing like any of the Fiat printed manuals. The diagrams and explainations are much worse, and all that jumping about to different sections and procedures does my head in. (n)

And another thing....... :) all those little bits of wiring diagrams dotted about everywhere!!..... I know the complexities of modern electrical systems mean we can't have everything on one little page any more like it used to be in the back of the old 500, 600, 850 etc. owner handbooks, but trying to piece all the bits of wiring diagram together on eLearn makes it almost impossible to see how one circuit interacts with another.

OK.... so call me a Luddite, but I'd much rather have an old printed manual for the Stilo. Preferably one with a big 2 metre square page for the complete wiring diagram. (y)

@ Kenneth

My suggestion in #4 above that you post your VIN number was only so that I could check exactly what year and engine your car was in order to get the correct wiring diagram for you. Between us, jug and I have posted all the possible diagrams so it was not neccessary for you to PM me your VIN number today.

Your PM also included:

"I´m getting nowere with this car(n). One funny thing is the alternator... The light on the dashboard does not work either.:bang:"

I understand that you may not have wanted to post your VIN in open forum but please do not PM me (and probably other members) with requests for help or symptoms of your problem unless asked to do so. You are likely to get a better response if more people see your symptoms by posting them in the forum.

Dave.

Sorry Dave! Didn´t know... New here and desperat. But thanks anyway!
