After reading through alot of posts on here about reading the pre 2001 ecu and still bemused, could you purchase one of these cables

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Fiat-3-Pin-C...395?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a74086133

and use a normal OBD11 reader.....

i read the story about someone making the cable and writing the software but could not figure out what i needed.....i am sure mine will have some faults but dont want to take it to garage everytime.....

if anyone can remember the posting of the items required to read your own ecu it would be great..

kevin

thanks

1994 998 spi panda parade ecu(its in my onyx)

just wanted to make sure all is ok with moving it from donor to onyx, also check the dreaded injector light is not summat obscure besides the lambda sensor or map sensor.....

rather than spend the dosh on garage fees, i have a laptop so could do it myself.....

i am a AS400 analyst programmer so have an understanding of reading code if that helps....

I dont think fiat ecu scan will work with your panda at least I have not heard of anyone doing it (correct me if im wrong) and most of the 16 pin code readers you can buy are obd2 which came in in 2002 for petrol and 2004 for diesel its the same problem with cinquecentos and early seicentos. do you ever get to any shows? I usually bring my snap on scanner along which has the 3 pin lead and code readings are free to members on the club stand.

in fact i'd recommend to anyone with the ecu engine doing this for "fun", might be revealing on how the engine is running...

Check and give mine a tune up please....
Does yours not have the same diagnostic interface as mine?
