Ecotek get shafted!

Ecotek get shafted!

So does that mean that they won't be producing any of their famous Ecotek valves anymore?

Nope, just chaning their adverts.

The whining shits have come up with pages and pages of bullshit as to why they thing works.

For the record I tried one, did **** all! :) Just made a silly noise.

I have one on my 1.8....

Made absoulte no difference to the acc' or trottle.... But i can honestly say it save me money on fuel! dont know about emissions? never tested it?

Maybe it works better on other cars, it has improved my economy, performance is no different! but put it on another car and it will probably improve performance....

Oh and it does make a silly noise, but i am growing to like it?

How much better economy? No use saying its better without figures ;)

To be honest i dont know figures, but it general saves me about £5-£10 a week (not alot but every little helps)

I do about 30miles Mon-Fri

and probably 20 miles at the week end!

It also depends on how i drive (obviously) if i drive hard for a week (had to try it for experimental purposes only :)) then it makes no difference to when i didnt have it and i drove hard....(If That makes sense)

The more i drive to save money on fuel the more i save, compared to before! (do i make sense)

ecotech v standard (hard driving) NO DIFFERNCE

ecotech v standard (general driving) SAVE SOME FUEL £5-£10

ecotech v standard (driving with Mr carefuls hat on) SAVE A NOTICABLE AMOUNT £10+ (very rare)

Paul, your figures don't add up.

30 miles (per day I assume) mon/fri + 20 at the weekend = 170 miles a week.

Say 30MPG for 170 miles at 80p/ltr of petrol thats £20ish.

So a saving of £5 a week is a 25% increase in MPG.

Even if you did 300 miles in the week and 20 at the weekend thats £38 of fuel so a £5 saving is a 13% increase in MPG.

Ok let me think---I never spend £20 on fuel a week!

I always spend between £30 and £35 week....

But now with the ecotech valve i spend about £26-£30

I very rarely spend £30 any more, where as before i spent over £30 every week...

Sorry tom, i think i was trying to be too clever for my own good...

Basically the saving above is with a mixture of general driving...the odd smoking of a **** in a 1.2 merit nova (who will probably still think he done me) to town driving and about 8miles each day on the motorway....hopefully this all makes more sense?

Ditto Tom, tried on a 1999 115. Thought I felt a performance gain at first but if I did it quickly disappeared. No MPG increase!

30mpg in a 1.8mk1 bravo NEVER IN A MILLION YEARS!!

i have got one the bloody thing is crap on petrol i reckon it is 24mpg i get about 42miles to a £5 on 75.6p a L

its worse than my old renault 21 turbo (aka THE TANK)

jesus, 75.6p a litre?!?! thats so cheap compared to where I live. 82.9-83p in some places. :(

then matt you have a problem with your car or you drive like a tit :)

thrashing a 1.8 will get 24 in a 1.8, driving normally will get 30ish and driving conservatively (at national speed limit) will get 35ish.

surely this depends to a greater extent exactly where you are doing your driving
