Fitting the fuel pickup fro the diesel heater to the sender unit in the tank and instructions said should be completed within 10 minutes after removing sender, but as always these things are never easy and after much faffing and about 20 min refitted the sender with the new pickup installed.

However my fuel gauge is now flashing and reading zero...any way to reset the system, should read half a tank.

Guide should have said to disconnect the battery, computers are unaware of what goes on when they're off!

First disconnect the negative on battery for a couple of minutes and reconnect.

If that doesn't fix it, measure the resistance at the sender to rule out problem there,
