Hi, does anybody know where the earthing points are on a fiat ducato based Motorhome are.
I am installing a battery charger from leisure battery to cab battery and need to earth it. Also the same for installing an inverter.
Thanks

I've just looked under the bonnet and can't find the battery so assume it's under the floor as suspected. You could follow the earth lead from there to discover where it ends.

Will follow your thread as I'll be doing same. Hopefully put a Microwave in when I find a suitable inverter.

What exactly do you mean by "earthing points"?
Any external wiring has a yellow/green protective ground wire, usually connected to the nearest metal part of the chassis. For safety reasons nothing else should be connected to that point.
The DC negative side of a charger is connected to the chassis too, but not under the same screw or bolt. Normally there already is wiring provided by the vehicle manufacturer, like to/from the minus pole of the leisure battery.

Earthing points (should have said earth point) Haven't found it but it wasn't the place I thought it was which is good.

When you say "Normally there already is wiring provided by the vehicle manufacturer, like to/from the minus pole of the leisure battery." Do you mean manufacturer as in Fiat or some motorhome manufacturer because I have just the van that I'm converting.

On motorhomes the negative of the cab and habitation batteries are connected together and bonded to the chassis. The positive of the batteries are paralleled [joined] together by a split charging circuit which operates when the engine is running, triggered normally from the alternator D+ signal i.e both batteries are charged by the alternator.
There is normally an onboard charger that operates when connected to a mains supply. This can charge both the cab and habitation batteries.

These functions plus DC distribution etc are normally carried out by a modular system such as a CBE PC100 kit

If a solar panel is fitted then together with a dual regulator it can charge both the habitation and cab battery.
