Hi all,

Got issues with a reversing camera that's been installed by a previous owner.

Thinking it's all down to what looks like some suspect wiring that's been done.
Looks like a fire waiting to happen

Anyway, thinking I want to give it its own fused power and take it to a dedicated earth instead of all the piggy backing that seems to be going on.

Is there an accessible decent earthing point to go to anywhere? My main wiring is in the dash around the radio sort of area.

With regards to a fused power source, I've found the fuses and what looks to be lots of spare connections coming from a bus bar type affair behind the fuse panel. Can I use one of these with a spade connector and inline fuse? If so is there any recommended sections I should or shouldn't use for something like a reversing camera?

Okay well this a an interesting problem you have here , let see if we can wade through it .

First off , you don't mention what the van , or it's age is .
Are you experienced with vehicle electrical systems , and do you feel happy messing with your vehicle electrics .
Is this a stand alone system , or part of a larger system , ie media system .

Just so i've got some background here , before we get into it . It's a case of how far i will need to go , if you like , to explain methods ! .

To be fair, the OP stated "99 Ducato" in the heading. The year 1999 indicates an x230, for which there are some wiring diagrams in the German language workshop manual, that is available in the "Downloads" section.

Am i bad , or what , gotta be blind at the very least . I dunno how i missed that , but , Thanks for pointing it out , my friend .

That is handy , because i also own a 230 , it's a year newer at 2000 , but is also a conversion , and that was part of the question . I was hoping he would mention , if the actual vehicle was a standard van , or some kind of conversion .
