Here's the problem with my speedo!

A quick flick on the plastic usually rectifies it though ;)

This is the driveshaft output seal leak & headlining issue...

Note the lack of oil elsewhere though! (& my shiney new wishbone) (y)

The headlining is really irritating, as the rest of the interior is mint, everyone gets in it, looks at the dash & seats & says "its like new isnt it", then they always look up & say "oh, what happened there?" :(

Rust water indeed.. how dare you.. not on MY Uno... :D

I think its had the sunroof left open a few times during rain. the pressed card & glue behind the cloth then goes like this.

Unless its some sort of catostrophic bacon sarny explosion at some point...

As getting a better one seems virtually impossible, I have been thinking about taking it out, spraying it in grey primer & then laquering it..

I was also toying with the idea of putting a second aftermarket sunroof over the rear seats...

Louis - I hope that genuinly is your auction. Those questions are really quite amusing. :) Shame I haven't got that much money though.
yer that's my auction!!

Check out the Uno Turbo parts on my feedback ;)

If you can't quite match that price, you'd best submit your best offer for the Speedo (y)

The buyer is from the same town as Gaz BTW (y)

Edit: Sorry I've struggled to be as witty about Unos for the past 12 years.

£35??!?! For that?!?! With my dying grandmother who needs a new hip and a plane ticket to Australia to meet the son that was stolen from her who is very close to death and who also needs a new hip? Are you mad?!?! I'll offer £5 and another one of my hand drawn, limited edition pictures. ;)

edit - does my ebay feedback link work for you? It doesn't for me, even though I'm cut and pasting from ebay directly..

Assuming you're talking about the seal strip at the bottom of the door window...
Use a screwdriver, parallel with the window glass, to push the folded-over lip of the plastic strip downwards and outwards under the door metalwork that it clips to. You might find it easier to remove the door trim and work from underneath. On front doors you can also get a good idea of the situation if you wind the window all the way down and start at the front.

So, I tried this, and couldn't even get the door opener surround off, nor could I the window winder :(

Alex... you in Portishead again soon? ;)

Feedback link didn't work.

I'm still sat on my chair as the thought of a fiver didn't motivate me one bit.

Ok I fell off my chair laughing, but I'm back on it now :D

1) I want to show you my feedback but I don't know how. Does this one work: http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&userid=neller2cool&ftab=AllFeedback ? http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=neller2cool ? I give up, How do I do it? Or you can just search for "neller2cool" and read from there.

2) We were haggling remember ;) You start high, I start low, and we meet somewhere in the middle if you want. You can start at £50, I'll start at £5, ~£30 is near the middle ;)

Jai - did the window fall off its plastic peg? :chin:

Ucof - the inside and outside plastic strips have different cut-outs but can be modified to mix and match - use a sharp knife rather than scissors, the plastic tends to split.

I won't be back in Portishead for the forseeable future so you'll have to get by on your own ;) I wish I had your wit, though. You should make Louie a more reasonable offer by private massage... I mean, message... (that was a typo, honest)

-Alex

To the private messagemobile!
:)

Alex - I cant get those plastic strips off. They slide on the runners, but I assume that I need to unhook one end from the door frame to get it out.
I might actually just buy a new outside seal (or two) from someone on here - there's an advert floating about for them.

alex....yep, started with the inner rubber folding down as the window went down, then the window would rotate forward abit, it popped the white peg that hold it in the vertical channel, then it fell off its ledge in the regulator

bugger

Oh, I forgot 4 more things,

The drivers window sometimes makes a dry squeeking sound when you open it (unless its my arm ).

When you use the remote release to open the boot, it wont re-shut till you push the little lever on the boot catch in manually. No amount of bending or lubing the catch lever, adjustment of the cable, front lever or lock catch has made any difference so far.

The driver seat backrest tilt release doesnt release properly (since my large bouncer mate borrowed it & bent the runner guides (& split 1 of the roller wheels on the runner in half)...

Someones cracked my OSR light lens & the fog light reflector is corroded (as I found out the other night trying out my new "1156 36 LED panel" lights I got off ebay which turned out to too dim to replace 10w sidelights, let alone 21w brake lights by the way... NOT recomended... I`ll be making my own soon).

Thats it... till I remember more... (y)

Hi, I am new to this forum and ucof's thread is responsible for making me register here.
The problems with my Uno! I could go on and on. But let me list it out in brief.
The car is 1999 model 1.0 litre FIRE.

1. Vibrations creeping in at low rpms. It disappears at higher speeds. (I changed my alternator belt and bearing, ac belt, tensioner, suspension bushes, silencer head gasket, apart from clutch master and slave cylinders recently).

2. A strange sound after shifting gears. (It started happening when I had a gearbox oil leak and had to run the car with low oil)

3. Various nicks and dents on body. Traces of rust below doors and on some spots just below the window beadings.

4. Stock steel rims look ugly now with rust and dents on them though the tyres are in good shape.

5. Scratches on the paint.
