More on my Ducato x244 2006 2.3 Diesel Starting and dying at low rpm issue …
Since the issue first started to occur I have replaced the fuel filter, the fuel pump relay (T10 I think it was) and the starting motor and driven over 1,000 miles since, so 99% of the time the van starts and runs very well, but sometimes it is reluctant to start, it turns over fine. I suspect a fuel issue.
I have listened and I can hear the fuel pump running when I turn the key, but maybe there is an intermittent fault. The other thing the van does is, if say I am approaching a roundabout or junction, I tend to pop into neutral and coast the last few yards, sometimes the engine cuts out and as a result the steering and braking become heavy, sometimes I can bump start and carry on, other times I come to a stop then turn the key, so far the engine has restarted after a few turns.
When the van is working well the van starts straight away which is most of the time, but obviously something is wrong and is slowly happening more often.
I think I can get to the fuel pump through a plate near the passenger seat, I will be trying this over the weekend. Not sure what sort of High Pressure pump I have, looks like there are individual pipes to individual injectors, so at the weekend will take covers and hoses off so that I might see where the pipes go. Any advice appreciated, and particularly where I might find the HP pump.
