Hi all, Some advice needed please! I recently did an oil and filter change on my 2008 Ducato 2.2l, 100 multijet motorhome. Everything appears as it should be except that on starting the engine, the oil warning light continues to flash 5 times before going out. Correct oil was used (5/30) and oil level is perfect. I cannot remember this happening before the oil and filter change. I purchased an OBD 2 code reader and checked it, but it gives me a 'no faults' reading. Can anyone help, all advice welcome. Thanks, Robertmac

Maybe it's the Ducato way to thank you for the nice fresh oil.
Mine once indicated a very low oil level after an oil change. I even stepped out to check for a major leak, like a filter not fully seated.

I guess once the trapped air has gone, the flashing will stop.

I think the 5 flashes is the Fiat way of telling you that either the service indicator or the oil quality monitor needs to be reset. I don't know if there is a way of doing this which doesn't involve a trip to a dealer. I don't think it will be trapped air, as this will be forced out of the system by pump pressure within seconds of starting.

Hi, That is what I am inclined to think, because the service indicator did come on and stayed on for a while and then went off again, then when we got back home after driving in Europe, I changed the oil and filters myself......so is a visit to a dealership now possibly unavoidable, or is there a way to re set the service indicator? And if I do not visit a dealership any idea if there are any mechanical or electronic consequences? Once again, all help appreciated. Robertmac.

You'll find the service indicator in the dash menu. Once you are into the menu, scroll through until you find 'service' or something like that and you can reset the service from here. I'm not too sure, but I think you can even set your own interval in either miles or kilometres.
The information will be in your manual somewhere around the 'menu buttons' information from memory.
Good luck. If I can find the exact info, I will post it up, but as I will be away from my computer today, don't hold your breath.
