Well it's still at it.
So far checked all hoses.
Taken exhaust off and cleaned out dpf and pre cat filter.
Egr cleaned along with inlet manifold.
Replaced solenoid for turbo actuator.
Cleaned turbo pressure sensor.
Still making that noise.
Then sometimes blows out smoke that stinks of diesel.
Other times no smoking just goes in to limp mode.
Fault light comes on the dash.
Fault reader says intermittent turbo pressure.
Turbo does look a bit black looking.
Check the Air pipe that goes into the turbo, its awkward to get into and can only be seen good from below.
they are notorious for working loose. " mines did "
i have 100% exactly the same issues as yourself. My van has only done 73,000.

replaced Timing belt and water pump.
Replaced EGR which was first time i had light on Dash " In fact my issues started after i replaced the EGR however new one test fine and i have no dash lights " not 100% sure if Egr gaskets has small leak but smoke machine hopefully will find this. Maybe new egr has slight fault not being detected, i do not know how to check for this As
MES shows nothing.

under load or accelerating or over 2500 rpm i get billowing black smoke stinking of diesel. " if i drive keeping Revs 2000 or below i get no black smoke
i do not have any dash lights so next step for myself is, injector leak off test, re-check with smoke machine all boost pipes.
check inter cooler As may have a small hole or blocked.
i am also thinking that a boost pipe may be collapsing or leaking under load.
will also be looking into Live data whilst driving and just see what is going on around the 2500 rpm mark.
