Hi,
I just bought a Ducato diesel based motor home (1992) from Germany and when I first test drove it, it had hardly any power even with my foot to the floor - I thought the filters needed to be changed.
The German machanic took it away and fixed it and we drove almost 1,000km home to the UK without problems.

Just brought it to my mechnic for UK MOT and it sailed through and I also got all filters and oil changed so it would be a smooth dream machine however.... the old problem of not being able to get any speed and it being sluggish has returned and my mechanic doesn't know what the problem is... have also emailed German mechanic for answers but can anyone here help....
Thanks
Randon

Hi Randon
can you provide some figures, such as what size is the motor, what is the gross vehicle weight, and by sluggish how long does it take to 60mph, and whats the top speed, how many miles has it covered?

Hi, Doorman,
He's a 1992, 2500cc and when he was running ok I got up to 110km ph... but with the organial problem I couldn't and again can't even get past 20km ph...

Sluggish means he is hardly moving...

At this rate we won't be doing any festivals in style and will have to dust off the tent again!

I think it is that not enough fuel is getting to the engine to give him power but how did the German mechnic sort this??? I thought he just changed the filters but the problem came back after I had new filters put in when back in the UK.

Hope you can help :worship:

Well it must be something your mechanic did, I would say maybe theres an air leak into the fuel system somewhere. Does the fuel system need to be bled to remove air bubbles from the fuel lines. Is the air filter new.
Sorry can't be more specific, my van has the later engine.
Hope your german supplier can help.
Regards Doorman
