Hello, I want to repair some rust under one top corner of my windscreen and I am thinking of just pulling the rubber right off to clean out from under and re paint. Is it wise to take this off without a windscreen change? I am just worried if I take it off I may not be able to get it back on without removing windscreen and removing all sealant. I know I will need to cut residue of old sealant out before re installing. Any ideas here?

Windscreen fitting is a specialist job really, also there is a good chance of breaking the glass.
I have done the older types with a fillet rubber that you remove first and then with careful lubricating gently ease glass from rubber, then on refitting there is a technique with a strong string wrapped around the rubber which with two people it can be pressed in and as the string is pulled it eases the rubber and screen back into place.
Still a high chance of breaking the glass if not very careful.
However if your screen is the later "bonded in sort" then it needs to be fitted correctly as it is actually considered part of the structural integrity on modern vehicles.
I had a customer several years ago with a 1997 Fiat Ducato Maxi Van, the body used to flex so much that before each MOT they had to replace the cracked windscreen, vehicle was not very old at the time!!!

yeah interesting as I have a parts van with a strange cracked windscreen that is a maxi and flex would explain it. But I don't intend to remove the screen, just the rubber, thing is it wasn't fitted properly last screen change and has a gap one top corner which has turned into a rusty spot. I really need to get under it but I don't want to replace windscreen

I suspect the rust will have got further than the outer edge of the rubber unless you are really lucky.
I don't know the age of yours but this address "https://www.smilewindscreens.co.uk/inews/18973-how-to-fit-a-fiat-ducato-windscreen-the-easy-way.html" shows a bonded type details on a 2006 model.
