I have a 1998 Ducato and the indicator is difficult to turn on when turning left unless I force it of turn the steering wheel slightly. Can the mechanism shift position as the lugs for cancelling are not in the same position on each side. Any help welcome.

I read something somewhere, years ago, but can't remember it clearly.
It was something to do with the indicator stalk, and the mechaism getting stiff. The answer was taking it all apart and cleaning/greasing it, and this fixed the problem.
Sorry it's so vague.

Common problem on the older Ducs. Remove s/wheel, and covers, clean flasher switch self cancelling system, lube with a dry lube eg dry glide, silicon spray. Don't use CRC 5.56, WD40, oil, etc as these attract dust etc, and create further issues. Most flasher switch problems can be attributed to cig ash or dusty environs.
