Technical Ducato front brake caliper bracket tool

Evening,

Does anyone know what size tool I need for the front brake caliper bracket housing, it looks like a big allen key bolt.
I dont mean the 6mm allen key bolts that undo the caliper sliders, it's the caliper bracket to hub tool i'm looking for.

Can't recall size off hand but it is a hex key you need , very tight you will need one to fit 1/2 inch drive breaker bar
Two bolts per bracket

Think it's the 10mm or 12mm

I normally just buy one of these cheap sets every once in a while, then when I break a few i buy another 1. Surprising how much stick they’ll take, even being A cheap set

Hi Rob,

On some forums posting in bold type is likened to shouting, and looked upon as poor etiquette.

In my tool collection for my Ducato I have both 14mm, and 12mm Hex bits. From eLearn the front calliper bolts are M16, and the rear calliper are M14. As the Hex bits are larger than those for standard cap bolts, I am assuming that the 14mm hex bit is for the front callipers, and the 12mm hex bit is for the rear.

Are you sure that the sliders are 6mm Hex? 7mm is quite common, and special long bits are available.

Do keep in mind that your more recent model may have different bolt sizes.

On my Ducato it's a 14 mm hex. I got one with a 1/2 socket so I could use it with my breaker bar and torque wrench.

I was wondering why the print looked so dark, i thought it was because it was the original question, cheers for letting me know.

Picked up a 14mm short impact socket from Amazon... they were tight!
