The latest problem on my 2.8:
With the engine running at normal temp all seems normal, touch any ancillary i.e. put indicator on, hazard lights, interior light, heater fan and the temp gauge climbs of the scale and all ancillaries suffer power loss.
Switch off the engine, wait till the temp gauge drops to zero restart engine all dashboard lights ok until you touch another ancillary.

Any ideas?

Hi, sorry for digging up the tread, I've the same issue (among others) on a Ducato X230 from 2000.
I'm not a mechanic but I try to learn.
I see where the main earth is ( below the battery ), the correct way to do it is to remove the cable tie and then ? Sand the wires or ?
Thanks for your replies.

In general yes. All of the surfaces that touch together should have as little corrosion as possible. When it is as good as you can make it, apply a thin smear of "vaseline" to keep moisture out.

Hello, I found 3 earths ( 2 in the engine part and 1 below the dashboard ). I cleaned everything, I've tighten the bolts, no more issue.
Thanks.
