Hi,

Just a couple of questions, I have been told that my ECU could be faulty and they are suggesting that I get it replaced.

First question can you point me to where I can find it ??

Second Question, If I purchase one direct from a Fiat main agent can I just plug it in place of the existing and away I go, or is there something else that I need to do.

Thank you

What engine, year, model?

At a minimum keys will have to be coded to it, from fiat you will pay 5 times the price of a specialist.

If you want plug and play you need to get the ecu, bsi and keys together .. should be able to get that on ebay for under 200 quid.

Hi,

Thanks for the reply, its a Ducato 18 - 2003/4 - 2.8 JTD, I don't know if its relevant but its never had a Red Key, just the 2 normal flip type without any buttons, hope that makes sense.

Also thanks for the suggestion about getting a second opinion. I have this is about the 3rd or 4th as the problems seem to keep changing never quiet the same, so I suppose this could be seen as a last ditch attempt, hope that makes sense

Thanks

Check for water ingress in the ecu, connectors, fuse box etc.

Your van is the code 2 type if you you need to get the code unit from the steering column, keys and ecu if you're getting a used one from the scrap yard.
