Just been fitting a DAB radio to my 2015 Ducato motorhome and whilst rummaging around the cables at the back, found a connector on a branch of the wiring loom that wasn't connected to anything. It's not part of the loom that feeds the radio/speaker etc, and it only has two wires actually connected to it - green and brown.

I don't have a wiring diagram and though I've checked that everything is still working in the dash - I'm about to go away in the motorhome for a couple of weeks and don't want to find something isn't connected when I'm half way down the motorway.

Can anyone identify it? I realise it could be a connector for something that isn't fitted to every Ducato model (like heated mirrors). I was a bit confused by how the blue locking clasp actually works - and why (if it was connected to anything important) this has prevented it becoming unconnected. Any help would be gratefully received...

I may be way off, but it could be for a factory reverse camera,

Which DAB radio? Is it single or double DIN and how well does it fit the fascia? Does it interface with the Steering wheel buttons? I have a 2012 X250 Peugeot (yours may be an X290). On mine the centre information of the dashboard can show the radio information - I presume that is never an option with an aftermarket radi but would hope that the steering wheel controls could be used with a suitable interface cable..
Very interested in your experience and would appreciate more detail.
Sorry I canot help with your question.

Maybe of some use .. Getting the Steering Wheel Controls working is really good fun ..

Only way you can find out is with a Fiat Wiring Diagram. I think they use a couple of looms and just connect up whats needed. I had a Radio / Sat Nav fitted so most of the cabling was already in place when I changed it. It could be something like Blue & Me, CanBus or a Camera thats not fitted. It's also easier to take the top part of the dash out as it gives you more room to work. I left out the two hard to get at screws at the front and used velcro to hold it in place with the back two screws.
