Evening,

My father has unfortunately falling foul and been scammed by BCMREPAIR.CO.UK - after send them his BCM for repair/cloning, they have ghosted him, said they are returning the unit (not done) and gone dark.

Trying to salvage now a difficult situation where there is no BCM available for the vehicle so getting a unit coded to the vehicle appears pretty much impossible!

My current working theory is to find a similar vehicle (2.2d 2010) and remove the ECU, BCM and key assembly from the donor vehicle and fit to his campervan, aware there will likely need to be some coding etc for the ecu to take with other original parts/systems fuel pump etc.

Is this possible?

Any help would be great as currently have a 78 year old man in tears and doesnt know what to do/where to go, all local auto-electrics firms dont wont to touch and he now doesnt trust anything where hell have to send off parts for the vehicle.

Cheers

Just done 30 seconds research on above company and jeeeeez they got a good rep (NOT!!)

Their own website states several 5* reviews .... but who listens to curated (self advertised) bull like that

Then do some real research and you find https://uk.trustpilot.com/review/bcmrepair.co.uk with a * rating of 2.6 and other (P. poor) stories on various forums ...... they sould like incompetent scum.

I hope your father gets sorted one way or another 👍 - good luck

Maybe a scrapyard and virginise a BCM and build from there. There's gotta be someone out there that can bring it back from the brink.

Cheers, i did the same and then broke the news to him.

Apologies for my lack of knowledge on electronics

If i did a full ECU/BCM/KEY replacement from a donor vehicle, would it matter if the BCM serial/code numbers were not the same as the original unit but still pair with its donor ECU?

have found a potential match with ECU but the BCM coding is different

Thanks

Cheers, unfortunately i am in the situation of not having the original BCM to be able to get a clone done.

Have found an ecu kit with a match ecu number but a different BCM number, now trying to see if that would work as a full system change.

I have very limited knowledge of vehicle electronics so just working on first principles and hope!

You seem to have overlooked the following sentence.
"I managed to find a replacement part for £140 on eBay thanks to A1 Van Breakers."
