Technical Ducato battery light on, Ignition off!!

Can anyone help me??? My Ducato 14 lwb has had the battery light flickering while idle. This has now stopped but the battery light stays on when i take the keys out of the ignition. The battery now dead overnight. Any ideas??

Usually diodes in the alternator are shot.
