Hello
I have a 2006 Ducato 30 100 M-Jet and it was left unused for most of the lockdown period apart from the odd trip shopping.
It always started first time previously but had it's quirks, (went through a 2 week stage last year when the engine continued running after switching off and removing the key)
However last month on the fortnightly trip shopping it sounded like it struggled to start, but did so first time. A couple of weeks later it sounded like it seriously struggled but again started up first time. 2 weeks later it wouldn't start at all.The battery was always left disconnected and the battery is a decent one and less than a year old. I have fully recharged the battery but all that happens when I turn the key is a single click sound from the starter.
1. Would I be correct in assuming it is the starter that's gone?
2. Is there an easy way of eliminating any other possibility?
3. Is it a difficult job to remove the starter(FOR A NOVICE MECHANIC) to bring it to a shop to get it checked?
Many thanks for any help or suggestions.
