Technical Ducato 244 2.8 jtd alternator replacement.

Hi, I want to replace my alternator.
It's beginning to fail.
I don"t know very well how to proceed.
There's not very much space to work on.
Anybody who's done the job?

Sometimes it marks 13,2V
Other times 12,8V.
Each time I start the engine voltage is different but never 14 V.
I think it needs to be replaced but I don't how to do it .

Repair or replace? Repair would be difficult with alternator fitted to vehicle.

Raise the vehicle to improve access.

Disconnect the battery negative.

If vehivle has aircon, then compressor drivebelt will have to be removed for access.

Remove electrical connections from alternator

Loosen alternator fixings, and slacken alternator belt adjustment, and count number of turns (not easy).

Remove alternator belt.
Remove tension arm from alternator.
Remove alternator main fixing bolt.

The really difficult part, remove alternator from vehicle. I belisve that this has been done and mentioned on forum.

Here is a link to the eLearn procedure which also does not tell you how to remove the alternator past all of the obstructions.

What I have to remove to take off the alternator and put the new one.

Hi, I have accessed to the alternator and I've got a doubt.
There's no screw head.
Don't you think??
I've taken pictures so I hope we can see the downside alternator where goes a big bolt attaching it but I don't see the head.
How may I remove this bolt??
