Help. The doors are unlocking and locking all the time without me pressing the key. When I turned it on it started but the indicators the wipers and washers were on all the time. My van is going crazy. Anyone come across these faults?

Hi sounds like the body Computor has internal fault this controls all them functions

Thanks whine0 Forgot to say. The headlights were on full beam also. Where about is the body computer? Is it easy to get at. Any idea how much a new one costs.
Cheers Tribby

Try disconnecting battery check Earth lead tight battery volts ok but it does sound like body comp has fault you could ask around see if anyone on here got donor body comp you could borrow to try on yours the van won’t start but faults might stop

The body comp behind drivers side lower dash board cover there should be metal cover over it held on with 2 shear bolts and 10mm bolt there £500 new Euro 4 and 5 body comps different it’s the box above obd plug you separate fuse box off body comp your year

OK cheers. I disconnected the battery a couple of hours ago and will re-connect tomorrow after checking fusebox for moisture.

OK so checked under bonnet fusebox and all seemed dry. Took fuses out and re-seated. I connected the battery and the lights wipers washers etc are all working normally. I thought great all solved and then the central locking started clunking in and out again. It is worse when they are locked. I need to use the van next week so is there a work around for locking the doors if I take the central locking fuse out. I then have more time to get it sorted. Cheers Tribby.

Hi do the indicators all flash when doors lock and unlock because I know they do even if central locking fuse blows on Euro 5 yours may be different on Euro 4

Yes they do but when they were cycling through their locking unlocking they didn't. Just sounded like the solenoids were moving. It hasn't done it for about 3 hours now. I can only think it must be damp although the vehicle battery isn't keeping to 12.7 once left for over half hour.
Cheers Tribby

Just started doing it all again tonight. It has been very damp today and the battery is down to 12.5 but that could be because its turning every thing on .

Try disconnecting the lock button plug next to hazard switch and drivers door button if it’s on your vehicle see if that stops it

I'll have a look tomorrow now. Thought i had fixed it as well. If its been fine for over 24 hours and it was dry and warm yesterday and damp today do you think its not the body or ECU computers and maybe water ingress on wires and connectors somewhere?
Cheers Tribby

Have you access to any diag software that will tell you position of locks and switch parameters? If no your fault can be harder to find you could manually check all locks turn free or remove body Computor then remove fuse box off it to see any damp in it,has any your mates got same van Euro 4 that you can swap body comp van won’t start but might help diagnosis no harm will be done ,on these multiplex systems diag software can help

OK Cheers. I'm actually not sure which is the body computer. I can see the fuse box on the drivers side and there are a couple of black things on the top and to the side but haven't got a clue how to take them off. If I can get it drive-able tomorrow I am taking it to the garage up the road from me. They have diagnostic software. I'm just hoping that it won't require a new computer.
Cheers Tribby

Recap. Took it to the garage and the diagnostic computer said a couple of relays was either O/C or short to ground one was the central locking and I can't remember what the other one was. They spent a couple of hours on it and when I went back up it was fixed. Apparently a couple of open circuits behind the fuse box under the dash. All seemed well but noticed that the fuel gauge was flashing and on empty. Filled it up this morning and still showing empty so I think they may have forgot to connect something back up. Did about 40 miles in it today and then this evening when drivers door was open I could hear a faint click of the solenoid in the door. When I closed and locked it, it seemed to stop. I am praying that the other symptoms don't come back as need to use the van for the weekend.

Hi if your fuel gauge still showing empty now try disconnecting positive on battery for 2 minutes this will re boot body comp you can disconnect power on body comp but if you don’t know where to look battery more familiar for you ,fuel gauge should work again this is common fix but if still not working it will need to go back to garage .

Cheers. Can I disconnect the negative or has it got to be positive?
