Just bought a 2018 Benimar Mileo 231 based on a Ducato 2.3 with Comfortmatic gear box and between the gears changes it feels, for a second, is slowing down. Has anyone experienced the same? Any suggestion what is causing that.
Thank you for any help.

Hi Adriano

This may be just a characteristic of the automated manual box. The gearbox controller briefly intervenes to back off the throttle during gear changes, which mimics what a driver of a manual car would do. It may feel as though you are slowing down, but it would be more accurate to describe it as a brief pause in acceleration.

By contrast, a "true" automatic transmission allows seamless acceleration

Any Comfortmatic owners out there with direct experience ?

Hi Anthony,
Thank you for our prompt reply, what you say makes a lot of sense.
I am completely non mechanical minded.
As you say, maybe a Comfortmatic owner will confirm this.

Hi, I can confirm that this is just how it drives, the pause between 1st and 2nd gear is especially pronounced.
You get used to it and drive accordingly, but I do lust after the new 9 speed automatic!
