I agree with you, but it's each individuals situation that determines if something is a necessity or desirable.
 
It's not really about laziness or convenience, for some it's a necessity or simply a personal preference. I smashed my left ankle up quite badly a number of years ago and constantly depressing the clutch in rush hour traffic can cause it to act up over time. Are all Auto (sorry, robotised manual) drivers lazy??

I think you've got the wrong end of the stick, I for reference do have a dualogic (2 in the household by chance) and need one (although even if I didn't I'd still have one out of choice).

Going back to £15 a month for dualogic over manual Maxi, if not needed but wanted I suppose it would also come down to mileage covered, of doing 20k a year like me, then yes £15 a month for ease is worth it, but if only doing 2-3k a year then like you say, possibly not at £180 for the year.

I drive a Mini Cooper with a stick. Love the car...

BUT driving through city traffic with a stick (and a health issue - MS - where fatigue is an issue at the end of a long work day) makes it tough during rush hour. Yet, when well rested up, the stick is awesome..

Having the option of putting it in Automatic during rush hour and then kicking it into manual (semi) mode at will...would be wonderful!

Being in the beginning of the fiat search, I'm guessing that a 500 with semi would be better than the 500L for performance... And I would definitely get turbo, to get the 135HP...

What I don't really understand is, the "Dual Logic" is still a clutch, pressure plate etc? No torque converter?

I keep hearing about the robot controls?
So just like a manual, can you stall it?

And would you be required to step on the accelerator before letting off the brake? Would it drift back on a hill?

Yep, clutch and a manual gearbox (the same one fitted to manual cars) but with computerised hydraulic controls to do the clutch control and change gears automatically (or with your intervention).

It will drift back on a hill and doesn't creep like a 'normal' auto. I've not driven an Alfa selespeed or FIAT dualogic (basically the same system), but I read that people say the hill holder is generally a good option to have when choosing the dualogic option.
