Hi All

Most concerned I’ve taken my 57 plate JTD 150 multijet in to the Fiat dealership for thrust bearing noise and in my opinion a noisy Dual Mass Flywheel the vehicles only covered 21000 of careful driving but it has been confirmed as this is faulty , to be replaced under 3rd year warranty.
The clutch thrust bearing is not covered so I’ll have to fund this part and while its stripped I’ve elected to replace the clutch completely, the gearbox was replaced at 11000 miles due to a noise in second gear. My fear is now how long will this replacement flywheel last?

Comments please
Regards Kelvin

Its impossible to answer how long it will last.

However i can say the flywheel will be a recon unit as will the clutch kit.
Did they replace the complete gearbox or did they strip it and replace the parts like the syncro's/cogs? if they replaced the complete gearbox, again this would most probably be a recon unit.

Did you ever experience difficulty engaging 1st and or reverse gear when cold? if you did you might be entitled to a new clutch kit as there was a service bulletin about it that fiat know about, i had this and they bleed the system, however i still have some trouble getting it into reverse so when i up for the servcie in may, i will remind them of this bulletin.
What noises are you hearing from the flywheel, is it a vibration?
and by chance how much was the clutch and bearing?

Hi Mate

Hi Mate

The cost of the Clutch and bearing is £250 and I have checked this is for a new one as no core units are available for recon as we speak.

The noise was a knocking noise and a uneven idle speed (Shaking) and as the rev's rose a whirring noise which followed the drop in engine speed when
decelerating
