Hi,
At my MOT a couple of weeks ago i was shown that my rear wheels were hard to turn and told that my brakes must be binding probably because the wheel cylinders were seized through lack of use.Fair enough i thought i,ll check into it when it stops raining.
Today being fine and dry i jacked it up and found one wheel not too bad but the other quite hard to turn.So i removed the wheel and the locating pins to see if i could get the drum off to investigate but now the drum is rotating freely!!
So i replaced the locating pins and the drum is locked.Slack off pins drum rotates fine.As far as i can see all i am doing is moving the drum back a fraction of a millimeter.Could it be rust on the rear edge of the drum?Any ideas?

Im not an expert on drums as its probably over 20 years since I changed a set of these but did you take the drum off completely?

It could be a build up of dust etc or the self adjuster has gone past the point of no return.

Untill you take the drum off completely its impossible to say what it is.
However on the 7 Mk1 puntos ive had/got ive always ended up replacing at least 1 rear brake cylinder and now see it as a routine thing.
my advice would be to remove the drums on both sides and have a look.
