Hi,

Have just (finally!!!) managed to get the new shoes and springs back on our sporting cinque but buggered if able to get the drum back on, by a long way.

How can I get the shoes to sit closer together at the top? At the moment there is a good 0.5+ cm gap between shoe and hydraulic piston on both shoes.

Heard there is some kind of friction adjuster but where it is and how to adjust it have no idea. I hate drum brakes.

Thanks,

Richard

Just squeeze.

The friction adjusters are the thing the locating pin sits in.

Big screwdriver each side usually does the trick.

Are you fitting new drums?

Cheers

D

Hi,

As easy as that? Couldn't get them to budge. Could they be seized?

Not fitting new drums but no lip to get passed on the current ones. Just trying to get it mobile again so can drop it off at the MOT place and let them sort the rest.

Thanks,

Richard

Sounds promising. Will stop being a wimp and try harder tomorrow.

Ta v. much,

Richard
