I have been soundproofing my Panda MJ, with decent success so far, but I need to do the roof which is as resonant as a dinner gong. Has anyone dropped the headlining on a Panda and therefore in a position to offer any tips on how to do it? I suspect that it's a case of being methodical and careful, but any first-hand wisdom would be much appreciated.

Hi mate, yes I have. Sound proofed the roof of the car and re upholster linner with suede.

See my Matte Black Project thread page 11 and 12. Hope it helps if u still have questions PM me. Good luck (y)

Thanks for that. Was it really necessary to cover the entire roof underside with sound deadening pads? I'm planning to use just 4 Skinz pads to control resonance, with a layer of acoustic absorption material (eg treated felt) between the roof and headlining.

Not necessary but I only covered all the single sheet roof panel section of the roof for the best sound proofing result and foam to help with inside cabin noise. Basically did as if it was done in a very good garage.

BTW the pads I didn't just use to deaden but to utilize foil bit of it too so the car doesn't get too hot hence most of the roof was covered.

When I tried to drop the headlining of my old MJ to fit sound deadening pads, I succeeded in creasing the headlining. Now that summer might be upon us, I am planning to soundproof as much of my 1.2 Dynamic as possible, starting with the roof panel.

Can anyone share any top tips for dropping the headlining, without risking damage to it in the process? I assume that it involves removing all plastic trim pieces, but actual experience would be useful.
