Are you sure you replaced the right bulbs? There are two in each housing, one is your high beam 55W (H1) and the other a dual filament 21/5W (T20) for DRL and parking lights respectively.
i only replaced the rear bulbs as they was both not working and was hoping they would work but they did not,as i said the front osf light is working i have changed a front one before so i now were they are , just to add more confusion about 3 months ago i had a small job done in a garage and when i got in car they did not work and i tapped the light and both rear come on
i have had some more work done and its strange why they are playing up again ,i have checked connections and they look ok i was wondering could it be the computer
I'm confused is the issue with the front DRLS and is there was there an issue with the rear side lights ? And was the light you tapped a rear one with a fault at the rear?
Try this with the key out, turn on the lights, now check all the side lights front(dim) and rear.
Turn them off, start the engine, are both bright drls on? This is not a fix it's just to confirm what's working and not?

And to clarify DRLS are only on the front.
O dear you have just sorted my problem i have just the nsf light to replace why on earth did i think they was on the back
