Just back from solo 2,000 kms trip in Scotland and without a passenger, the whole RHS is blind when at roundabouts and non perpendicular junctions. This made most of the lay-bys up along Loch Lomond/Loch Ness inaccessible due to rejoining the main road at maybe 30 degrees. Also made the r/abouts up around Glasgow very difficult to navigate, especially ones with single lane entry.
Any thoughts on how to solve this.

Additional "rear camera" fitted on the RHS mirror or side of vehicle with additional screen?
Thanks as always

I used to have this problem even within Europe until I cut out a window in the RHS sliding door, behind the passenger seat.

Junctions at certain angles were completely blind unless I deliberately squared up the van with the road I was merging into.

Now I can look over the seat and through the window, I still need to be smart with positioning at the yield line to clear the B pillar but it's no longer the massive issue it was.

To some degree the lower convex mirrors can help but I think there's a limit in how far up they can point.

I wonder if you could adjust your main RHS mirror to cover the blind spot and use the lower mirror to cover your rear instead?

Or maybe add one of these wedge mirrors to the main mirror.

Much obliged.
Just looking on-line and remembering that the rear view mirror is not actually used, that something like this might work.
rearview-mirror-streaming-media-driving-recorder, with external cameras
The awning cassette is on that side so the cameras would not add to the width.
In any event the RHS mirror stick out a bit
.
However I do need to figure out the field of view

That should work, just try to not have too much sky in the field of view as the image can get unusable when the sun is in the frame.

100% re the sun.
I have that issue with the mirrors when reversing onto the shed and the sun is behind the shed
Will keep updating as I progress

Ah, just one more thing, with these rear view mirror / dashcam units the dashcam camera is built into the back of the display, I believe. So it's only the reversing camera that you can place where you want, in case you were planning to use both.

I drive a left hand drive 16.5t road sweeper for a living, yes it can be an issue but road position is key specially at junctions.

You dont state if A class or Cab based so my reccomendation may be of no use.
I use Milenco clamp on mirror. I did have on both sides untill my RHS mirror was destroyed and the milenco moved left to right.
A alternative ive seen proposed/used on MH forums with A class is a Fresnal Lens.

Thanks, will explore your ideas.
The van is on a Fiat chassis so I guess cab based and so the mirrors are sticking out.
Won't go for a mirror based system as the RHS one has already been damaged..

I agree, it is surprising how many people get to a junction at an angle stopping them see clearly if safe to pull out.
I have driven a few smaller LHD vehicles in the past which obviously were no problem, but I had a friend with a 1950s Cadillac LHD with an 8 litre V8 I asked him about overtaking, he said no problem, fall back a little to see the road, then boot it.;)
Probably not something for an MH.;)
