Technical Driveshaft oil top up.

Just replaced the left drive shaft on my 2010 1.4 500c automatic and lost about 1 litre of oil and for the life of me a can not find where to top up the oil.

Hi,

The filler on the gearbox may well be covered by the Selespeed fluid tank for "the Robot"

Always a good idea.
The other alternative is to jack the car up so high on that corner that the oil is away from the drive shaft at diff.
Still need to check oil level afterwards.

Yes the filler (on front face of gearbox) is just about accessible if you loosen the heatshield over the dualogic fluid reservoir and move it out of the way as best you can (assuming this is dualogic and not a "proper" auto). The plastic reservoir has a "cutout" moulded into it that allows access to the hex plug. Bit tight though...as ever, so near and yet so far in terms of Fiat making life easy for the hapless mechanic.
