Hi,

I had a little mishap today. My car and another MPV got too close We slowed down but the other car didn't and subsequently the two mirrors collided. My one snapped closed as one would expect but somehow the actual mirror glass decided to do a disappearing act. I even went back to see if I could find it, apart from a few tell-tale bits on the road there was no evidence of the mirror having hit the road. My question is does anybody know whether the glass part is supplied separately or is this a complete replacement job? Everything else seems intact on the mirror and it all works. Even the two wires with connectors are there undamaged. I presume these are the wires for the heated element in the mirror, how these became disconnected without any damage I don't know, maybe they were never connected. It looks to me as though the glass bit could be fitted easily as there are holes which may take snap in lugs or something similar.

Some "tosser" smashed my Dad's scenic's wing mirror glass, Halfords stocked the correct shaped and size mirror including the convex part you get at the edge of Scenic mirrors. In our case it was a sticker style fitting and the electric part still works fine although we don't have heated mirrors so don't know if that makes a difference.

I'm pretty sure you will be able to buy the glass, but I also suspect it will be a main dealer part.

I think the mirrors are the same on all versions, so it may be also worth trying Citroen & Peugeot to see who is the cheapest for parts.

Had the same thing happen to me, Halfords don't supply a glass for the Ulysse
it had to come from a main dealer. It cost about £30 I think.

I have just been given a quote of £11.75 Inc VAT from Melbury Motors who have good prices on spare parts. This seems quite cheap so I am wondering whether there are more bits to it. Just to double check with you on how you clipped yours in. In the middle of the mirror I have a plastic ring with about 4 holes on it which is where I presume the mirror clips into. I then have the two loose wires which must be the circuit for the heater. Were there connectors on the back of the mirror to take these wires?

I bought my new Ulysse from Melbury Motors and they managed to beat ever other price I was quoted by both main dealers and other brokers. When they delivered it they also got me the official carpet set and dog guard at a good discount. They even lent me a car for a couple of weeks because delivery of our's was held up

If I lived closer I would get them to do the servicing as well.

Ok, had a look through old posts - looks like Gordon has a 2.0EL 1998 Ulysse! This explains variance above.

I have now purchased the part and have included pictures of the Mirror Housing and the back of the mirror for future use. It is similar to the picture Gordon posted. I eventually bought it from Desira for the price of £13.09 inclusive. This worked out less then Melbury Motors once the postage was taken into account, plus no risk of losing it in the post. The part number for the drivers side mirror is 9464243680.

Yep that looks like the same fixing, its fiddly but its just a push fit in. Glad you didn't have to pay £30 plus like I did. Don't break this one.

Lol, well I know some people call it a van, but that is taking the michael.

I think reason it is down is due to the person hosting it, not coz it is a new version or anything. The prices are still around 2003 time.
