Anyone off to york drag way this sunday? I should be there with my sei turbo would be nice to see more fiats there. Centos are better going round corners but you have to accelerate out of the corner lol its not the best/stickyest tracks but its all good fun

I may be going down in my sei, dont think i will tack it yet still working on the making the 75 punto engine quicker.
Where abouts you from mate, i'm in York and also have turbo cento... I'd love to bring the cinq down but no where near finished, started reshell project a while back. Would be nice to meet someone else round here with a turbo cento, not to mention handy to look at during the rebuild of mine if your up for it...

Not been to Shakespeare County Raceway, howz it comare to the 'pod. Obviously not as good but York is kinda comical, not even flat and level

think its known as avon park too i liked it tbh there was alot less corsa's with big bores than pod gets and alot more stuff like spaceframed hotrods and a twin engined mini :yum: amongst other things (cossie mk1 'scort comes to mind, doing a burnout sat sideways on lol)
MR2 ran a 14.5 last time with v badly gapped plugs causing a huge misfire all the way thru the rev range, since then boost has been upped from 0.6/0.7 bar to ~1-1.2bar
and ignition components renewed, hoping for mid 13's now at least was also shocked how well the mr2 can get off the line, 7k rpm launch and it didnt spin the wheels at all just put all the power down, really threw me after being used to launching the turbo cinq lol

I been messing around with a few bits on my car, it failed to start last night battery died, got battery on charge so give it a go tonight also need to empty as much out of it as possible this time rest of times i had left all the stuff in like the ice install that filled boot and tool box that filled both rear foot weeks oh and a pair of wheel! Took wheels and box out and didnt make a difference if i remember rightly though.
Wow 7k launch! I have problems with a 2k launch lol evan though the power is further up in losing too much time on starving off best 60ft time i have had is 2.6sec from last time i went car has had both strut braces new avo shocks on rear to match front new HnR springs and new tires and twice as much boost. Gonna start day with 6psi and finish with disconnecting the waste gate. My terminal speed was 90mph but 15.5sec quarter with the 6speed box, when i had the 5speed box and a slipping clutch i still did 15.5sec quarter with 88mph terminal speed same boost but different compression ratio and cam timing both times its all confusing to me
lol i was trying to get my 60ft time below 2.0 but best i managed was 2.1
started off launching it like i did the cento (~4k) but it just bogged down, so slowly tried harder launches and ended with 7k then side stepping off the clutch and it just gripped and gripped, was really impressed by it
btw i found on the tubby cinq if you lower the tyre pressures to around 18psi was still enough to drive to a petrol station afterwards but gave you alot more grip off the line
i never got to drag the cinq when it was finally running properly
best i managed with it was a 16.6 or so i think lolDidnt have the time to empty my sei out so its going with all the trim cant see it really making that much of a difference out fussed about tenth of a second not competing am i lol. Anyone from here turn up then lol car got driven to york after a day of messing around with the car fine tuning it trying different things checked spark plugs well as i took out the punto gt plugs (ones with 3electrodes) they were a grey brown colour and changed them just to a set with a different heat range, car is running exceptionally well.
Inevitabilly traction is still a huge problem up to 1/8 mile get wheel spin in dry, maybe to the fact that the strip is not as good as santa pod but had a great day best times i got today were 15.4080 seconds quarter with a terminal speed of 90.90mph will try get hold of a scanner and post up all my slips. if you can check on there web site my cars id is b462.
Evan with using 195-45-14s conti sport with 18psi in them didnt really make that much difference today. Nothing to boast about but Also got a 0-60mph time of 7.5217seconds.
Two options i have to help with traction is to get traction control system like say a racelogic or an aftermarket ecu etc or have a boost controller low boost to get off line or summat

my '2 ran a 14 sec dead, really must get the intercooler and downpipe/decat on there heh

!Best 60ft i got at york was 2.4798sec (from 28 went down to <18psi tire pressure) and best at santa pod from last year was 2.4682secs. I tried all sorts low boost high boost low-high rev launch
have your 60ft times got any better? Not long till ya get in to 13s then. Have ya heard read or seen that lad (called shahid) with a black and white mr2? Run somewhere near mid 10s or whats the quickest mr2 in uk?
