Wife has got all 4 kids loaded into the car this morning, key in ignition - nothing. No lights, no splutter, nothing. So I'm presuming one of my little darlings has turned on the cabin light in the rear and left it on over the weekend flattening the battery.

Car is parked up in an awkward position so a) can't push it onto the road and b) might not even be accessible to an AA van or similar.

I should be able to get my car close tonight - its a petrol Barchetta with a decent battery. Am I likely to be able to able to charge the Multi's battery from the Barchetta, and if so how do I go about it. Would I be attempting to start the Multi whilst B is running? Do I need different leads to charge a diesel, as I know they take more juice to get going?

Any help (before 5pm tonight!) gratefully received!

Matt

AA vans carry a portable battery box with leads. Tell them, if you call them, that it's in an awkward position or they may send a truck or garage vehicle that may not have the portable battery box.

Dave.

Same leads as normal just leave the little boat running whilst the leads are connected for a while before attempting.

Thanks.

In the end borrowed some decent jump leads from work which could stretch from the B to the M.

Tried starting without the B running (I'd read there can be problems with surges coming across the leads damaging electrics), but had no success. Fired up B and tried again. No luck. Left for a few minutes, then tried with 9 year old son on the throttle a little and all kicked in nicely!
