General Dogs in 500's

I once passed a woman on the M25 who was drinving with a Jack Russell lying asleep on top of the dash board!!
What I find most remarkable is that you could distinguish between a JRT and something like say a smooth haired fox terrier at speed :p

This is what you want, they look well happy!

£5.99 from Lidl, and if you get bored in the car you can pull the ends that are attached to the seats and watch the dogs fly up into the air as it pulls tight! ;)

Cute picture:) Love the image of pulling the ends and the dogs flying up in the air - would be especially funny in a convertible....:D

Am joking BTW before anyone calls the RSPCA.

Crate on the back seat - big enough for a Border Terrier, and some very tasty nylon seat covers from Halfords with holes cut for the headrests. Sorted (y)

Re: Dogs in 500L's

Hi There, I am new to this site....anybody know where I can get a hammock style cover for the 500L? Seems too new, just wondered if anybody had managed to find one?

oooh old thread :D

I have a Scottie who sits in the back on a plastic backed picnic rug in his own RAC Dog Seatbelt. That said Scotts don't moult so hair transfer isn't an issue.

Many years ago in North Wales we pulled up at traffic lights and the newish car in front had a dog cage attached to the rear of the car via a complex set of ropes that tied it there. The cage was low enough that the poor collie type dog terrified inside it was level with the exhaust. had anyone rear ended it the dog would have been history. I guess the owner didn't want dog in his new car.

I actually called the police, followed him onto the A55 and relayed his location to them, they pulled him at the next slip road. Don't know what happened after that but hopefully he was educated into why carrying dogs in hanging cages at the back of the car wasn't the best idea

They're out there as a colleague of mine has one. Our schnauzer just sits on a blanket with her own seatbelt.

Fiat do one as an approved accessory. It's on their website. It fits the 500L and the 500.

Re: Dogs in 500L's

I'm sure you'd achieve the same results with a small dog and a large Ikea bag :D

To be honest the picture in the link does show it half size. There is another piece that zips onto it so that it covers the whole seat. I agree with you sentiment though, it's a lot of money for what it is. I've seen similar on ebay for a fraction of the price.
