I like the fact you can open each window independantly, I can see that being useful to allow the pup to pop it's head out from time to time.
We have always kept our Boxers in Crufts metal cages... they were also perfect to transport the dogs in our Volvo estate when we had it. Our dogs use the cage area now as refuge and think nothing of 'going in on instruction' they work very well.
I always recommend new dog owners use cages for dogs / dog training... whilst the pup is still young put the dogs comfy bed inside a large cage and then part cover the cage with a blanket. From time to time and at nights etc. you should be able to lock the bar on the cage door, restricting damage etc. or poop mess (because dogs dont want to soil their own bed space).
The ability to then remove the cover and still keep the cage locked incase of broken glass / cleaning / visitors etc. can then prove invaluable.
You have to start early though and expect to ignore some whining / crying etc. at first; but just like a baby, if ignored things soon settle down.
