depends what you can afford.
personaly i always buy a gates cambelt kit from autoparts (around £55 for quality cambelt & tensioner rollers).
like you say, the labour charge is reasonable, the rest isnt.
cambelt & rollers fitted shouldnt be more than £350, waterpump £50 with very little labour cost.
i would haggle for a £450 all in inclusive of vat
ofcoarse you could always try to get it down further by seeing if a "cash" deal is available

i paid £462quid for mine that got me all belt including aux. water pump and it fitted that in ashford which i dont think to far from you...correct me if im wrong.

but i would want all that done for less than £500. like someone said on here dont buy your own parts yeah you may save tops £100 but then if failure (hope not) the garage wont take the blame and then your f"!"*k for the sake of a couple of quid..

I spoke tohim and he is willing to fit parts i provide with a warraanty on the labour. Also he said to get some quotes of Fiat oe parts and hell see if he can do better.
Now i just need to find the best place to price this all up. Do shop4parts sell oe?

my fiat dealer quoted me £109 incl VAT for a cam belt kit! (i have a 1.6 though)

ive found an SKF kit for £60.05

that was after ringing round today

http://www.andrewpage.com/

this is what i was after, all these parts are from AP (including VAT)

£60.05 ‘SKF’ Timing Belt KIT
£76.26 ‘LuK’ Clutch KIT
£8.99 ‘Gates’ Alternator/Water Pump Belt
£14.60 ‘Gates’ A/C belt (its sommin called a ‘stretch’ belt its basically self tensioning hence £15)

SKF and Gates are better than Continental belts (Continental is considered VERY good aftermarket kit)
LuK are better than Valeo clutches (Valeo are put on Renult and Peugeots from the factory iirc)
