Hi, I changed my cabin air/pollen filter today on my 500L Trekking (doesn't look like it had ever been done as caked in dirt!). To do this I moved the two clips from the sides of the lower glove box to gain access and as I was removing the pollen filter the glove box fell all the way down and I noticed there was a small clip attached to a string (almost like a very thin shoe lace). To me it looks like this is just there to prevent the glove box from completely lowering when you've removed the clips but does anyone know if it has any other purpose? I'm not too sure what it connects to inside the car and does anyone else know what the white horizontal cylindrical thing is behind the glove box, is it used to inflate the air bag? I put the two main clips back into the glove box and it opens and closes fine so am guessing I don't need to be concerned about the string?
