well my friends after 8 years of dobbies, 3 new ones on the trot, we're deserting and buying a 9 month old skoda roomster demonstrator.
We wanted to change to a fiat qudo, as my wife liked the doblo concept, but wanted something a touch smaller, but I couldnt see 10k in a new qudo, especially as you can pickup a new dobbie for 8k.
The last dobbie has been pretty faultless in 27k miles, so it was a good car.
We still have another 3 fiats in the household, so we still think fiats rock !

thanks for that, I'm gutted for the new owner of my dobbie, the flaming Dpf's gone south, and its costing 1770 euros to fix, fiat wont pay, they are a set of ****s !
according to the aa dpf problems on all car makes, is a timebomb waiting to go off in the second hand car market, someone should raise this issue with clarkson and co to try and shame the car manufacturers, the dpf is no better for the environment anyway, as it just burns the carbon off into the environment.

Roomsters are perfectly fine. I looked at one when they came out, but the cream interior of the first ones was silly. A good car though.

As I have said here earlier, the DPF will probably ensure my next car is petrol. I'm looking towards the future Fiat twin, in what I don't know. My old '03 Doblo is a lovely car, but the thought of a DPF version isn't attractive.

I'd maybe like a 110 bhp Qubo petrol, with the forthcoming twin - but that will be a while coming I expect...

Good luck with the Skoda.

Hi there

Sorry, if I seem to have been asleep for a while, but what is "DPF"? I haven't heard this acronym before!

Steve

Ahh! Thanks for that! As my Dob is a Turkish model (1.9 Multijet) I don't know if it has a DPF? Thanks for the info anyway.

hello steve, see this other thread fella :

https://www.fiatforum.com/doblo/182180-doblo-particulate-filter.html

If you have a dobbie with a dpf fitted, since them shi..ts at fiat only cover the part for 2 years, and its £920 just to buy it, i'd get rid before the warranty runs out.

Not one for defending Fiat but it was the poor cover, which incidently is clearly stated as to whats covered in the 3rd year dealer portion of your warrenty in your booklet, that made me buy an aftermarket warrenty from warrentywise as the 3rd year cover is poor and very basic, engine gearbox etc no turbo egr dpf etc etc. so really its a good 2 year warranty from Fiat manufacturers but thats it.

For £250 12 months you can get a fully comprehensive deal from warentywise as good as new warrenty. peanuts in price compared to any repair never mind a big one like DPF, Turbo, DMF etc:)

or you could buy a hyundia, with a 5 year warranty, or a kia, 7 years, or even a skoda with a 3 year proper warranty.
What amazes me about fiats is, they give 2 years manufacturers warranty, but only 12 months breakdown, surely if its under warranty, its their problem to recover it if it breaks down, skoda give you 3 years breakdown cover

Or, you can buy a Kia or a Huyundai with 5/7 year guarantees included in the price ;)
Lowish initial prices for the cars begin to look less rosy when this sort of thing is taken on board...

kIA OR HYUNDAI DON'T MAKE THE DOBLO:confused:

I know Fiats warranty time span is poor but I new that when I bought it and took that into consideration, Firstly the doblo been the best van I have ever owned and with 32% discount off a factory made to order i wasn't grumpling take an extra 600 to 700 for quality extended cover for 5 years and I'm still saving.

plus who wants a Kia or hyundai they give the long warrentys to sweeten the deal to get people to buy one.

brother got stung on that one bought a new Sendona diesel been a rough vehicle good job he had a long warrenty he said.

Agree with the skoda though good cars these days and a solid 3 year deal is a bonus.

like I said in my first statement, I would have bought a qubo, with the £35 pound road tax, band 75bhp, I know its slow but I think there a great car, but cant see 10k in one, you can get a brand new dobbie for 8k, so that how much a qubo should be, now that I know about dpf's I'll be taking this into account when I buy another car.

The 105bhp version Doblo doesn't have a DPF could have had one of those for a song:)
