I've been lurking for a while as I was nearly committed to an X19 a while back but luckily I got over it.
I bought a Doblo van last night with a quick setting cement gear change and no heater blower, I blasted the linkage at the gearbox end with wd40 and sprayed some chain lube down the cables at the stick end still not 100% but deffo 90% better than it was.
checked the fan resistor with a multimeter all ok and had power at the fan connector plug, stripped the fan out and took the motor out the plastic shroud and noticed a bit of green on the feed wires and the copper coilly bits either side of the brushes a good blast of contact cleaner about a fiver from toolstation then saw it disappear before my eyes plugged the fan back in all good again, so I'm just putting it out there as something to try before you commit to buying a new blower unit
