hi all i recently had the timing belt snap on my 2002 doblo 1.9 non turbo diesel and after checking the valve clearances i belive the to be no damage as the van was just idleing at the time.
however i have attemted to fit a new cam belt in order to try it and can't seem to find the correct timing marks? i have timed the engine up useing the yellow lines on the cam belt but the engine just locks up when turning it over by hand?
now i thought maybe there was some damage which was stopping the engine from turnng over so i removed the cam shaft allowing all the valves to shut and trned the engine by hand which appears to be fine and feels like there is good compresssion there.
so any ideas? if i sent the crank to what marks i belive are tdc and aet cam to the mark the camshaft lobes are pushing a valve open on number 4 cylinder which just seems wrong so any advice would be massively gratefull before i pull the head off!
