Well what an awful attitude - your parents won't always be there to bail you out. Anyway, by the time you pass your test you will be £300 odd down + around £100 in test cost and hiring of the car, then between 800 and 2000 for your insurance, fuel, maintenance, I don't envy you much. At least I paid towards mine even if my parents were in a position to pay outright.
