Do YOU clear history???

Went to work today, logged onto the computer at dinnertime, and found someone hadnt cleared the history, saw he had looged onto some "love" site at yahoo, and even found a pic of him!!!!

His pic was a shot of him when he was in the army, and his advert read....."I'm not a knight in shining army, I am man in body armour"....lol

when you next log on to a networked machine, right click the start button and choose explore.

Depending on the security level in operation on your network, you can browse the documents and settings folders of everyone who has logged on to that machine.

Windows synchronises the folders with those of your roaming network profile to speed things up should you log on again.

It's amazing what some people leave in their My Pictures folder or on their desktop

You can also check out their favourites folders to see where they spend time browsing and even read cookies, which have email addreses (lycos, hotmail etc) stored in them, which is good fun.

There are numerous programmes widely "available" that fully strip internet history, autocomplete, cookies etc etc.

No need to worry, unless of course you're a deviant?

My works pc will not let users install any software.

Consequently people don't clear histories etc.

Well, you'd have to be pretty dumd to be doing anything on a works PC that you shouldn't be doing!!!!

you don't have to do anything stupid at work to give away private information.

Cookies will hold you email address, which you may not want people to know. They can also tell people what bank sites you use.

If you think that hackers, phishers etc don't work at everyday jobs such as yours, think again.

With email addresses, copies of your cv, job applications, private letters etc, personal photos, you could be giving away your identity to some less than honest people.
