Do i GIG or RAM? erm help!

Bonjournio!

Right im off to Oxford brookes uni this september to study more engineering but im in need of a laptop!

And i have no clue what im looking for in a good one!!

I plan to run Solidworks Education edition and possibly any engine managment software aswell as doing all my uni work!

I have been recommended toshiba?

Yep, Toshiba all the way if you want an all singing all dancing machine.

Acer if you want a good budget, but probably won't do what you want it to.

I got a Toshiba with 250gb HD, and 3 GB ram and lots of other bits and bob's for £699.99

Toshiba machine's also come with 2 year warrenty's where as most others only have 12 months

Battery life is relativly good also

You will probably need a laptop with a dedicated graphics chip to properly run stuff like 3d models. Might be worth avoiding the 8400GS though as there are widely reported overheating issues - works fine in my Dell XPS M1330 though
