does anyone know how the plastice end of the boot lifting struts is held onto the shaft ?
It's the end that fixes to the tailgate, the shaft seems to go inside it but I can't see how the two are joined together.
Anyone have any ides ?

Gav, there are liul retaining clips that sit on the top and bottom of each strut, you need a lil screwdriver and it will pop off. if you have a look you will see it easily enough

ON some of the gas struts I use at work the end On the shaft are screwed on

BUT DO NOT DO the cylinder end as there is gas/fluid in it and damage this end and its fecked
