Any wanted ads for hopeful purcahse need to be put in classifieds (y)

Check ebay as well and the gallery for any unos to see if they have a pic of one

To add a avatar/pic under your username go to 'user CP' then 'edit avatar' (y)

No need to apologise, you are fairly new, next time though, the hounds may be released :D

Youre not the first and you wont be the last ;)

Rob, I've seen digital dashboards turn up on Ebay, but they aren't common and can often command high prices. They were available as a mk1 option only, so not many were fitted with them as most came with analogue instruments.

As Apple mentioned, Ebay and the classifieds on here are your best bet. Keep looking and you'll find one eventually

Yeah i check e bay just about every hour but seen nothing, i have a pic of the dash looks pretty trick..
Do you know if it uses the same loom and how much shud i look to pay for one..

They turn up every now and then. They also seem to be quite popular in Germany, and if you're lucky the dash might have a switch to go from kph to mph like a lot of modern cars do. If this is the case you might be able to find one on German Ebay.

I've seen them go for as much as 40 pounds!

I think they use the same wiring loom as the standard dash, but I do know that the boost gauge is electronic whereas the analogue dash boost is run off a vacuum pipe. Apparently there is a pin on the ECU which sends the correct signal but you'll need one of the turbo boys to confirm this.

Good luck with the project!

Yeah here's a pic i think you can just make out that switch av a look:eek:

Hmmm... I don't think there is a switch; the Tipo DGT has the switch, but the Uno Turbo display is clearly labelled 'km/h'. Good for us of course (in metric New Zealand), and actually over here it doesn't matter if your speedo is in miles per hour or kilometres per hour. It could probably be in metres per second, Mach number, percentage of chance to die in a crash, or light years per millenia... all the WOF inspection states is that the vehicle 'must have a working speedometer'.

If it's anything like the Tipo DGT unit (which it probably is), you'd find the Uno Turbo digital instrumentation to be an absolute pain in sunny conditions - because the segments are backlit and non-reflective, they are completely drowned out by low-angle sunlight. In fact, they've been mostly obliterated by the flash in that pic. I got a speeding ticket last year because of sunlight (in a Tipo), I was overtaking and honestly had no idea what speed I reached - apparently 115km/h, surprising when the car was running on three cylinders.

Update: just checked in my Mk1 Uno handbook - circular button in the lower-left corner is for resetting the trip meter. There is no mention made of changing the units (and if you could, you wouldn't be able to change the odometer or trip meter units anyway). You may find a setting somewhere in the circuitry, so it would still be worth a check if not too expensive.

Ah i thought that switch was to change it but now you say it, it is clearly labled km/h and no mph present ???
I had an old astra gte 16v a couple months ago and when the sun was behind you you coundn't see it at all it just looked black and dull
may be i should just get some white dial's and slap in my dash they look pretty sweet. Is this a easy job alex... (y)

They do switch mine did and it was great fun seeing how many times in one journey you could see over 200 kph! (i spend a lot of time on my private roads)

So you're looking for a cheaper one on another site! lol ;)

Ere
Heres another pic and i think you can just make out the kph and mph above it, maybe you can change them between the 2.

Sorry about that! But I think we might both be right. That speedometer has both 'mph' and 'kph' to the left of the display, and there seems to be a button in the bottom-right corner. The photograph you linked to in this thread didn't have these. Neither does the handbook that I have, so I wonder if the early ones don't and the later ones do... anyway, good luck with getting it working!

What im thinking alex is the uk cars had mph and kph, but the other cars in foreign countries are just kph ?
The one i bought or shall i say buying has both mph and kph so i should be ok.
But yeah that first pic i posted only had kph?? but the other pic had both, so we was both right.
Only prob is im not sure how the boost guage wires up ??? mines a pipe and the digital dash has got to be electric aint it?
