just a quick question, am i right in thinking that all the FIRE engines in the fiat punto's are the same? except for the bits like ecu and that?

reason im asking is im thinking of converting mine from an 8v to a 16v, as its a gp, the gp 16v heads are astronomical in price, but i can get a 16v head and cams from the scrappys for chips if im honest.

if someone could clarify for me that would be great

You can't just swap heads -- 16v pistons are very deeply dished, 8v ones slightly domed. Valves will hit pistons!

Much better (and way easier) to just buy a decent 16v engine: the 1.2 ones are pretty cheap and common now.
