Technical diesel engine hunting on tickover?

Hi ive recently bought a 1.9jtd 8v w reg multipla, had a couple of repairs to do but i cant cure it hunting on tickover ?, ive replaced the derv & air filter, cleaned the air flow meter,egr valve, what next??

check all diesel pipes for leaks then glow plugs could be one not working effectively if it only does it when cold .
