Hi
Does anyone know what type of diagnostics will work on Bravo's?

ie. what would a dealer use? I've got a Snap On scanner with a 16 pin OBDII connector but this only really fit's 2000 onwards vehicles. Where abouts would the connector be?

Is the Bravo diagnostic compatible at all? Even with a fiat based system?

Any help/advice would be great!

Thanks

go through the menu's on the snappy and see what modules (cars, models, years) are listed. It does work on 16 pin OBD connectors, but could depend on software versions. You might have to be creative and connect the 3 pin sockets to the OBD2 plug if you don't have correct adaptors. The ABS, airbag, ECU etc are on different pins of the plug. look up the pdf manuals to figure it out..

there are several 3pin connectors (main ecu, ABS module, airbag module). the position of connectors varies with age and model. in many cases the main connector is attached to the front of the fusebox cover in the engine bay.

to connect the 16pin connector to the 3 pin connector you can use some wires:
use 3 lengths of wire to connect the 3 pin connector to the obd connector. also use 1 length of wire for power to the obd connector.

on the 16 pin obd2 connector use the following pins
4- chassis ground (connect to ground on 3 pin connector, or any good chassis earth)
5- signal ground (connect to black wire pin on 3 pin connector)
7- k line (connect to white wire pin on 3 pin connector)
16- 12vDC (connect to battery positive terminal)
